This is a DPM (Dropped Paint Methodology) painting. I apply all paint by dripping, dropping, slinging, and throwing it. No paint brush, palette knife, nor any other instrument ever touches the canvas while the paint is being applied. No mistakes while painting are ever corrected, so it's a pretty intense experience. The paint is dripped in small amounts over a long period of time, so there is a great deal of texture even in the solid black areas. I then applied charcoal for shadowing, before varnishing.
I absolutely love the chaos this creates while taking a micro viewpoint, yet gives you beauty in its' entirety when taking a larger perspective. And I love the sides, where the paint had dripped over and down...very cool.
