If I could lie beside you, and softly stroke your hair
While worlds break down around me, I’d think that to be fair To be there in your presence, to kiss your day good night To feel the warmth pour from you, cast by your inner light I'd feel so complete that, it would fill my inner core Except to hold you in my arms, one thousand years or more
If I could look in your eyes, and hold your hands in mine
Whilst flames arise and worlds collapse, I’d think that would be fine To hug you tight in sweet embrace, you bound so close to me My eyes would well with one love, as all that I could see I’d feel a completeness, that I’d never known before Except to hold you in my arms, one thousand years or more If I could hear your sweet voice, in the early morning light The sun could fall from heaven, and I’d think that’d be all right To hold the love you give me, to know how much you care Gives life its’ very essence, and more would not be fair I'd feel so complete that, it would fill my inner core Except to hold you in my arms, one thousand years or more If I could hear your laughter, dance with you in the rains The sounds of life could perish, I’d still hear sweet refrains To hold your heart’s emotions, in the center of my sole Would fill me to the very edge, and make my spirit whole I’d feel a completeness, that I’d never known before Except to hold you in my arms, one thousand years or more

David S. ChorneyThis is where I'm supposed to write something about myself. I still have some hair left. I am still undecided which I like better, photography or painting. My four major food group are seafood, melted cheese, pasta, and Advil. I love the hunt of a finished piece of art. All quotes, essays, stories, and any other written piece on this website, are original and written by yours truly, unless otherwise noted. |
